Ein Link auf eine Seite mit recht brauchbaren Tools.

Bei Problemen mit der Partitionstabelle oder verlorenen/überschriebenen Partitionen hilft auch recht gut TestDisk.

Fürs Ändern der Partitionstabelle (Partitionstyp) unter Windows gibt es ptedit32.exe (Download-Link muss man über Google suchen). Unter Linux sind die Tools fdisk, sfdisk und parted brauchbar.

Ein Blick auf das Disk-Recovery-Tool R-Linux zu werfen lohnt sich auch; vor allem wegen seiner recht unkomplizierten Bedienung beim Anfertigen von Dateisystem-Images.


ext2/ext3/ext4-Tools

Das ext4 Dateisystem wurde komplett neu entwickelt. Es ist durch die Extends und andere Features nicht mehr kompatibel* zu ext2 und ext3. Das bedeutet, dass neue Treiber für Windows geschrieben werden müssen. Sollte jemand seine Partition von ext2 bzw. ext3 nach ext4 konvertiert haben, so kann es gut sein, dass die Programme noch funktionieren, weil der Kompatibilitätsmodus* aktiv ist. Bei neu formatierten Parititionen mit ext4 ist es oft nicht möglich auf die Partitionen zuzugreifen, deswegen muss man es im Einzelnen mit den jeweils neusten Versionen ausprobieren.

Linux

Grundsätzlich ist auch eine Linux-Installation in einer virtuellen Maschine (virtual Box) oder auf einem Boot-Stick ein brauchbarer Ansatz, um an ext2/3/4-Dateisysteme heranzukommen. Bei ext4 sollte man sich allerdings vorab informieren, ob das zum Einsatz kommende Linux auch entsprechende ext4-Überstützung enthält.

Eine Umwandlung der Partitionen (NTFS -> ext4 oder ähnliches) kann man unter Linux mit GParted probieren. Immer dran denken, dass man dies nur mit nicht-gemoutete Dateisystemen machen kann.
